The Director of Video is a creative, dynamic individual with the hands-on digital production skills, experience, and passion to manage and lead the multimedia team in Northeastern University's Advancement Division, bringing new and exciting approaches to our fundraising videos.
Problem solver, story-teller, project manager. This position is responsible for overseeing the production of innovative, progressive, visually compelling videos (live action, motion graphic and animation) that promote brands through events, promotions and product launches. This role requires a variance of skills such as project management, budgeting, scheduling, client management and sales. My expertise as a videographer, editor, and creative are utilized daily. Regular production management relies steadily on the hiring and managing of external vendors. Production crews range from five to 15 professionals for typical projects.
My goal was to Influence, inspire and manage the content creators of NESN's award-winning studio production team. We produced a wealth of programming focused on the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins, including pre and postgame shows, weekly magazines, features and debate/discussion programs. I acted as a Senior Producer on a pair of hour-long Emmy nominated David Ortiz documentaries, supervised the production of various programming and stepped in to produce, shoot and edit various projects when needed.
I enterprised and produced several high quality features per week for various NESN programming. Features ranged from short, “news of the day” coverage, to long-form, stories and human interest profiles. I also acted as lead field producer for live broadcasts and field coverage, including Super Bowl XLVI, Red Sox Spring Training and post-game coverage from Patriots, Bruins, Celtics Red Sox and various NCAA regular season home and away games. In my career as a feature producer, I have regularly produced live and taped content from NASCAR, PGA tournaments, movie premieres, celebrity galas/fundraisers and national political conventions. I also produce dozens of NESN’s "Jimmy Fund Telethon" features.
Responsible for graphic presentation of more than 140 Red Sox game broadcasts per season. Provide research, content and statistical information for broadcast team (Don Orsillo, Jerry Remy, Heidi Watney and others). Responsible for producing open segments, promotional items and various sponsored items. Provide NESN.com with written content such as blogs, interviews and columns while traveling with the Boston Red Sox. Act as lead game producer 20 to 30 times per season.
Oversaw production of Hazel Mae's weekly program on the Boston Bruins. Field produced live content, features and interviews. Managed small staff, wrote scripts, and authored rundown. Responsible for production of promotional spots, maintaining web presence, monitoring show's budget and finances while promoting other NESN programs and broadcasts.
-Two-time 2006 "Telly Award" winner (features) -2006 CN8 Leadership award for Distinguished Service Produce nightly one hour live sports television program catering to fourteen state footprint. Produce and report segment features for 7pm and 11pm versions of "Out of Bounds". Serve as sideline reporter for live CN8 Sports college football productions.
Produced and line-produced one-hour live sports television program. Booked live in-studio guests for nightly segments. Produced, wrote, edited and reported segment packages for "Sports Pulse" and nationally aired "CN8 Hometown Champions." Coordinated production of graphic elements such as lower thirds, full-screens and plasma graphics with designers.
Assisted in production of Emmy Award winning nightly local affair program. Performed research for daily news and local interest stories. Performed interviews, collected B-Roll and directed camera crews while field producing local-interest features. Managed editorial content of www.greaterboston.tv by digitizing and compressing video segments for web use.
Assigned news crews to breaking stories for Boston's #1 rated news station. Collaborated with producers in prioritizing daily news and events for the morning show, "Today in New England."
